Well... Congratulations Sheila and Richmond! Now THAT is a multi-million peso wedding. Wow. The super frocky dresses of the involved women (with heaps and layers of thule), the super italian cut custom tailoring of the involved men, the reception venue (le pav), the caterer, the wedding planner, and the decorations (mr natividad). Milyon.
The EU block reunites for this occasion, of course. Please note, however, na we are not even acquainted with the bride OR the groom. It just so happened friend namin sister ng bride (Jacqueline, who looked absolutely stunning when she's all done up like that). Wow. I was with (for my future reference, and in order of appearance) Les Val She Pawee Carol Patrick Max Mimcy Riya and for a while, Patrick's amazing mom (who spoke like seven different languages).
Now, the fun part We were the noisiest at the reception. Seriously. I couldn't help but give the screaming-faggot-under-repression emcee a full critique. I found everything he did and said hilarious. It's just so... scripted and insincere. So much so, that we all just kept on laughing and choking on our food as we tried to stuff our faces with the fantastic food from our heaping (yes, walang hiya kami, especially me and riya) plates. We were laughing from the church all the way to le pavilion, tackling a variety of topics that plague society today: philippine politics, centralization of public transportation, effective fiber-rich food supplements, employment and unemployment, and of course, the plight of the chinese-filipinos in the philippines.
we were not mocking the wedding. It's just been so long since most of us got together again that it was the perfect opportunity to just be gleeful... at anything we can focus on. I haven't laughed that much since... i dunno... college? hehe. This was another event where i had to wear a tie... which occurs like, once every year in my life... hehe.
